Derick & Talia Yeoman
President/Owners
Derick and Talia purchased the company from Talia's parents and founders Lee and Lorraine Borntrager in 2022. Derick has worked at Borntrager's since 2011 where he started out in the company's metal shop. His most recent role was Field Supervisor, which he still overseas today. Talia directs and organizes the company's philanthropy efforts in and around the local area, which was something her parents were very involved with. Both Talia and Derick grew up in the area, Talia from Goshen and Derick from Osceola. The couple met at Ball State University in 2008, with Talia receiving an exercise in science degree and Derick receiving an economics degree.
Margo Searfoos
Commercial Sales
Margo joined Borntrager in early 2022. She has been in the construction field for over a decade, and has a well rounded background of all different types of construction ranging from concrete work to manufacturing. Margo grew up and lives in the Syracuse, IN area and is involved with the Kosciusko County Cancer Care Foundation.
Cindy Hartzell
Office Manager
Cindy joined Borntrager in 1997. She has overseen the day to day operations from accounting, receiving, payroll, payables and much more since the day she started. Cindy comes from an accounting background in the manufacturing/RV industry. She attended Glen Oaks Community College and focused on accounting. Cindy was born in
Canada, but grew up locally in the White Pigeon, Michigan area.

What We Do
Borntrager Enterprises, Inc. was founded in 1978 by its former president, Lee Borntrager, and transitioned to its current President and owners, Derick and Talia (Lee’s daughter) Yeoman, who took over in 2022. The couple wanted to continue the family business that has been thriving for over 40 years. Their passion to provide a valued service to a building/owner needing a new roof through exceptional products and quality workmanship will continue to carry on Borntrager’s legacy.
Borntrager specializes in marketing and installing high-quality single-ply flat roof systems, including custom-fabricated sheet metal for commercial and industrial clientele in Northern Indiana and Southern Michigan. The company also offers preventative maintenance programs for existing flat roof coverings, in-depth flat roof surveys, and assistance in budgeting for long and short-term flat roof replacement programs.
We believe that detailed planning results in a job well done. Every project is unique in itself – that is why, at Borntrager Inc., we painstakingly examine every square inch of roof we install. We search for any problem areas that may arise and prevent future problems. We, unlike many contractors, go above and beyond the norm by taking core samples, conducting pull tests, and checking for moisture content. These procedures allow us to design a flat roofing system for you that will not only meet but exceed the manufacturer’s specifications and any specified warranties.
